Medicare
I am accredited by Medicare to provide services under the ‘Better Access to Mental Health’ Scheme.
To be eligible for the Medicare rebate you need a referral letter and a Mental Health Care Plan from a GP. Please bring this paperwork to your first appointment. Sessions can only be claimed under Medicare if I have received your referral.
You pay in full for your session on the day of your appointment and I provide you with a receipt for Medicare, that you can use to claim the rebate.
How do I claim my Medicare rebate?
There are two options:
Take your receipt into your local Medicare office and claim over the counter
Use your MyGov account details and the Express Plus Medicare App. Please follow this link for more instructions
Express Plus Medicare mobile app - Services Australia
Once you have downloaded the Express Plus app and logged in using your MyGov account details, you can make your claim. Follow the prompts on the app and have the following information from your receipt ready.
Psychologist name and provider number
Referring Doctor details
Date of referral
Service type / Medicare Item Number
Cost of the service
The app will then prompt you to take a photo and upload it to complete your claim.
